Kindergarten!

Keiran started Kindergarten this week! He had an intro day last week and today was his first real day. He was so excited to go that he barely said Good Bye as he ran into class. No tears from Mommy either, all went well!
I put my amazing art skills to work after the boys went to bed last night and made Keiran a card for his lunch box.

I'm about the best artist around. I put a disclaimer for the teacher on the back. Something along the lines of Mommy not doing well in art class, which is why she plays clarinet.

Tonight I went down to the stamp room to find something to make for him. I found some pre done blank cards that I had made for birth announcements for Keiran and never ended up using. Perfect! I added a whale stamp and a monkey stamp and called it a night :)

I plan on doing something small every day. I will probably check out Etsy for neat things to add to his lunch box. It's just so fun!

Evan is a fun and happy boy and he loves to make tons of different sounds. Check out this video of him pretending to make coffee in the bath, it's soooo cute!

Keiran had fun dancing at the farmers market yesterday while Daddy played in a sax quartet.

And here I am again after a long hiatus. Not going to write much tonight. Evan turned 2 last week!
This bad Mommy didn't take a single picture. Yeesh! He had a few friends over and of course our local family. We had a dinosaur cake. That kid just lives dinosaurs. He doesn't talk much yet but he can tell you what a dinosaur says! (he can also tell you what a coffee machine says, it's really cute). Hmmm...I think I might have a video with a bit of that on there. Will post.

Merry Christmas! Long time no blog :P

We have had a very busy fall at work which translates into less free time at home and so I haven't had time or energy to post on the blog. That and lately I've been on a huge crocheting kick with my work friends. It's been a lovely way to relax and bond with some great ladies.

The New Year does not promise to be any less crazy but I will be attempting to blog more. I will be really busy at work getting ready for a qualification test in March, but there is only so much clarinet playing a person can do in a day. That should leave a bit of time for crochet and blogging. And the kids. Can't forget those two cool dudes. Why don't I throw a few pictures from my phone up to show you the awesomeness of my children. (obnoxious much?)

Evan and his obsession with phones

Me as I was just about to start my BFT (battle fit test)

Two cute kids in our bed the day we got a TV in our bedroom. Best. Idea. Ever.

Evans head the day we got family pictures taken. He as an accident about two minutes before the photographer showed up. Figures. This year I am thankful for photoshop.

Keiran and Daddy at the soundboard for our Christmas concert at the elementary school on the base.

Messy monkey.

Keiran had no problem telling Santa that he wanted hotrods for Christmas this year.

Evan didn't cry, which was great.

Playing outside with Daddy.

So high his head got cut off the picture. He loved it!

Trying to get two boys in matching PJs with their Rudolph stuffies to sit in front of the Christmas tree on Christmas Eve. Impossible.

He is a real hambone!

Winnipeg Thanksgiving

Keiran and I went to Winnipeg to spend Thanksgiving with friends we haven't seen in awhile and to meet a new baby! If you are a friend that I didn't tell about the trip, I'm so sorry! I only told 4 people I was coming and in the end didn't have a chance to see one of them, so sad :( We probably should have stayed longer!!! It was a really great trip though and I was so happy to meet baby Kira and see everyone else. Keiran and I also walked past two of the houses we used to live in. He didn't quite understand that he couldn't just go inside to see what they looked like. But why Mommy? It's a theme in our house lately. Why? Why? Why?

Here's Kira! The cutest little baby girl around! Way to go Katrina and Jim!

Keiran raking up a pile of leaves so that we could take pictures of Kira in them.

Someone had to test them first!

They were chock full of ladybugs! He got a little upset when one peed on him.

 Sleeping baby in the leaves.

 With her pretty Mama :)
Our Thanksgiving table. The food was great!

 Katrina - pretty lady

Jim carving his first turkey. The Winnipeg Jets were playing their first game in the background, Jim was wearing his Jets t-shirt in support.

After supper Terry and Buffy pulled out the instruments, it was great!

Jim grabbed his bass and joined in.

 My ham bone!

At the Winnipeg zoo with Jacob and Ailidh.

The Ritsons - miss you guys!

 Daredevil monkey man.

Ailidh and Keiran had fun chasing a peacock.

Look at this cool bird! I have no idea what he is but I love him.

So we spent the morning at the zoo with the Ritsons and then headed over to Christine and Roberts for the afternoon and supper. After supper we went for a walk. Samantha is pulling Keiran in their wagon.

Along the way we passed the fire station and they had a truck out and were kind enough to let the kids look around.

 Sydney checks out the engine.

Lucky boy got to play with a fire hose!

Samantha and Sydney gave Keiran a lego camper and he looooooved it. He had to tell the fireman all about it, and the fireman was really good at listening!

Keirans first night of indoor soccer

We enrolled Keiran in indoor soccer for the year. This was his first night, it was really cute. It was pretty much a free for all for all the kids. They each had their own balls and pretty much went crazy for an hour.
He needed to take a few breaks, he ran hard almost the whole time! He also would not let go of the ball, he did not want anyone to use his ball. The same thing happened the next time when Daddy took him and he spent almost half the practice crying on the floor. I am happy to report that this past week he shared really well and got two cookies when he came home!
Note the carrying of the ball.

A glimmer of hope for future sharing.

Monster kick! Learning to pass to another kid and stop the ball with his feet instead of picking it up with hands.
