The past few days we've gone to the zoo lots! On Sunday I went with Brian and on monday I went with Hailey. Of course, Keiran came both times! I thought I would just add some pics from the two days!

The first pic is Daddy and Keiran on sunday. He got tired of his stroller and we forgot the ergo baby carrier.

We went out for lunch after the zoo and Keiran was being so cute! This was the first day he started feeding himself! We are thrilled!!!! Finally!!! Look at that hair though! It's getting so long. I've been holding off on getting him a hair cut but now it is time. The appointment is booked for thursday.

When Hailey and I went on Monday, the geese were hanging out by the duck feeding place. So instead of feeding the ducks, I fed the geese. They hissed at me but had no problem eating my corn!This was Keiran while I was feeding the geese! He was just waking up from a nap. So cute when he's half asleep!One of my favourite parts of the zoo! I love feeding the gophers. I had 4 of them surrounding me at one point yesterday.

Tooth number 6 is poking through now. Cranky, clingy, snotty baby is back. Yay.

Brian and I did gas hut training today at work. We got exposed to CS gas and had to re-learn how to suit up, put on face masks, take a drink with the mask on, change the air canister and then learn how to deal with a liquid threat. Fun stuff I tells ya! I was actually quite nervous for it and in the end it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Katrina was smart enough to remember her camera and got some fun pics that I thought I would share. Unfortunately there is only one that has Brian in it, good luck finding him!

Button Mashing Noob

This was my cute kid yesterday morning playing on the couch, he was in a great mood!

We were so mean to him this morning!!!! We took his hippo basket thingy and put it on his head. And by *we* I mean daddy. Keiran = not so impressed.


He is such a button masher!!! Whenever we have a video game controller, remote or telephone, he always tries to grab it so that he can press buttons!



Brian and I were playing a video game today on the Xbox and he wanted to play with the remotes so we finally gave him one of his own (a Wii remote with no batteries). It worked for about 5 minutes. That kid is too smart!

Lori came to our house this afternoon and brought her new macbook.  We had fun!  Here is a quick video of Keiran taken with one of the special effects her computer has.  We are such dorks.

It's been a bit busy getting back to work and adjusting to a new schedule.  That's why I haven't been updating.  Our camera also died and we haven't charged it so I haven't taken new pictures in the past week or so.  Bad mommy!

Keirans newest thing is to close doors.  He closes himself in the bathroom and his bedroom all the time.  He closes the door and then starts crying because he's shut in there.  So, we'll open the door and he'll immediately close it again and start crying!  He'll do this over, and over, and over!  We were so sad that the camera was dead and we couldn't catch it on video.  We will try again!  The camera is charging as I write this....

The past three days, I've been in Brandon doing the Manitoba Heritage Tattoo. It was tough to be away from Keiran and Brian that long! Normally Brian would have been on the trip but the poor guy was sick sick sick and hurt his back so he stayed home with Hailey and Keiran. While I was there, I taped part of the tattoo to show them what they were missing. I thought I would catch the RCMP musical ride charge on video and lucky me got more than I bargained for! Listen closely as the horses gallop by and you'll hear a nice surprise!!!

Brian took this picture yesterday while he was feeding Keiran lunch. I guess the poor kid couldn't wait any longer to take his nap!!!





This next video has nothing super special in it, it's just one minute of Keiran playing earlier today. Just thought I'd add it for fun.

Today Keiran got tooth number 5! It's about time, it's been bugging him for a number of weeks now.
A cute story. He was in his bedroom today doing #2 in his diaper. He finished. He grunted. He farted. He then looked at me and said "uh-oh". Classic.

This morning Keiran did something new!!!! After he woke up from his morning nap, he started throwing toys around as usual and after every time he threw one, he started saying "uh oh". It is soo cute! He has been doing it all day, uh oh everything. We love it!

My mom wanted a video of Keiran being whiny this morning and so I obliged and took a video of him. He was fine before and after the taking of this video!!! He is getting a tooth so is super whiny and clingy. Poor kid!

The Birthday Party!

Here are some pictures of the birthday party we had for Keiran on August 4th! He had a great time and got completely covered in icing! Thanks to Doreen and Hailey for taking him in and giving him a bath and putting him into PJs! We all had a great time and the weather thankfully co-operated.

Ok so I made Keirans 1st Birthday cake a few days early just in case I messed it up and had to re-do it! We're having a party for Keiran and Brian on the 4th so that Brians parents can be here for it. I decided to have a jungle theme of sorts and made a lion cake for Keiran to smoosh up. I also ordered an ice cream cake for everyone to eat so they don't have to eat smooshed lion cake! I am a dork and took pictures for every step of making the cake and am now posting them here! I had fun and hope that Keiran doesn't destroy it completely on monday!

Keiran is a lot like I was when I was a baby. He likes to play with tupperware! My Nana had a drawer for me to pull plastic out of and I loved it! So, I have a cupboard for Keiran to pull plastic out of. He knows it's his cupboard and he knows how to open the door now! It's the only one that doesn't have a lock. He spends more time playing with the tupperware than his other toys!!!
